Everyday objects take on a new beauty in the hands of Jessica Thorne.

At the forefront of Jessica’s design process is the feeling an object evokes. Each item is designed to fit perfectly in the hand; a harmonious embrace.  It turns pouring milk, squeezing a lemon or drinking a cup of tea into an experience. The rituals of the everyday become beautiful.

Milk jugs, lemon juicers and simple pots have an ethereal quality with chalky white exteriors juxtaposed with vibrant brights. Her joining technique is a signature style with a coloured stitch running through all of her pieces. A maker's mark, if you will.

Still life and lifestyle photography for Bristol maker, ceramic artist Jessica Thorne at The Forge, industrial shoot location with raw brick.

We met early last year to capture her art in the light of The Forge. Product photography for Bristols artists and independent makers is one of our favourite things here and delving into the story behind the craft is where we find our inspiration. Jessica shares her belief that craft should be accessible and available in the everyday. Each of her pieces are usable pieces of art.
