Sneaker making workshop with leatherworker Esther Keen
Photography : Kasia Kiliszek
Some images from the ever talented Kasia Kiliszek who photographed the “Sneaker Making Workshop” by Bristol based leatherworker, Esther Keen that we hosted at the Forge a few weeks ago. It was a really wonderful, intensive day of creative learning resulting in a pair of bespoke leather sneakers and a new love for leather working and fellow makers. Much thought and debate over which of Esther’s beautiful rolls of coloured leather to choose to make the uppers. Should it be all silver, blue with a silver tongue, mustard yellow all over or just a simple black? Or one of the many other colours. So many choices! We were all really delighted about how this workshop went, everyone was super pleased with their new kicks and much happiness was had! And it was a really mixed group which always make me happy.
A big thank you to everyone who came along, to Kasia for capturing it so beautifully and to Esther and her excellent assistant Emily for bringing such a special workshop to the Forge. Can’t wait to have you back.
If you’d like to be the first to hear about Esther’s next sneaker workshop, let us know here and we will email you the details ahead of the general ticket release.
